9 things you didn’t know about Spatiu
Get to know Spatiu a bit better with these 9 fun facts we bet you didn’t know about!
Before we turned our current location at 34 tournelles into the Spatiu HQ, the space used to be home to a hookah lounge, a hair salon, a make-up bar, a jeweller and a fashion store.
At its inception, the building used to accommodate a literary salon ran by a famous affluent woman of the times, Ninon de Lenclos. Some of the noteworthy guests include Lully, La Fontaine and Molière.
The word Spatiu means space in Romanian.
All our deco and pieces of furniture are handmade by retail designer + architect Studio Raphaelle.
Everybody loves our tea kettle and asks about it. It’s super gorgeous indeed and you can find it here.
We are located just in front of a Synagogue, and every time weddings are on they love to honk like mad men.
There is almost no signal reception at Spatiu because of the thick walls of old stones that block it all out. There’s also no wi-fi and we don’t have any phones ringing around at all time.
All bedding and towels we use in the salon have been upcycled by our partner Du Beau Linge from luxury hotels that would’ve just thrown them away otherwise.
In a couple of weeks’ time we’ll launch Spatiu Pets, a collab with Queen&Hunter. Stay tuned to see what the first product is meow
