Why our tea is not cheap

Spatiu flower tea the qi

Spatiu’s signature flower teas - offered at the end of every in-studio massage - are now for sale on the e-shop. Admittedly, these teas are not cheap. Read on to find out why…

100% Traceability

Our tea partners over at The Qi don’t buy loads of anything from questionable sources. Result? Every single flower and product we offer is traded directly and equally with the people we know, respect, and admire deeply for their craft.

Equitable Pricing

When you buy a flower tea at Spatiu, you pay the price that enables growers to earn a living income and the ability to produce their best work. This is necessary to create a more equal world and be the change we want to see.

Did You Know?

Our flower teas are edible. That’s right, you can eat them!

Excellence

Organically grown edible whole flowers are extremely difficult to grow. They are either full of pesticides and chemicals or pests and diseases. Every step of the way of our flower cultivation and every single product is cared for by hand with love.

A Better World

For too long, tea farmers have been pushed and squeezed by many large corporations in order to offer tea bags that cost pennies to make. They are caught in a poverty trap and exploitation where general consumers expect teas to be cheap (and often low quality).

By working directly with small farms we can stop the vicious cycle by offering a higher price for their 100% hand picked harvests, so money can be put back straight into the land for regenerative farming and farmers' hands to improve their livelihood.

Did You Know?

Flowers used for our teas are hand picked one by one, by real human people, washed then dried under the sun for 2-3 months!

Single-origin

Rose tea comes from a high mountain plantation in Shangri-La, Yunnan Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture at 10,000 feet above sea level.

Royal Chrysanthemum tea is harvested in Jiangxi, a southeast Chinese province across from HK, known for its pastoral landscapes of rice paddies, rivers, and mountains, centered on the Gan River valley.

Blue Lotus tea is sourced from an island called HaiNan Island (海南島) which is known as the Hawaii of China.
